Oct. 22-25, International Anchoring Technique Seminar 1999, sponsored by CCES-TUWB, China Geotechnic and Engineering Academy, Tongji University, was held in Liuzhou. It was the first internal seminar on anchoring and grouting technology held in China. More than 200 experts in geotechnical field from abroad and home attended in the event, and more than 60 papers were exchange then. 
 　　1997: Apr. 12-17, entrusted by CCES, a 3-person delegation headed by Qin Songjun, secretary-general of CCES-TUWB participated in the 23 rd ITA general assembly held in Vienna, Austria. Totally 1048 representatives from 47 countries and regions participated in the assembly. 1998: Apr. 25-30, invited by ITA, a 3-person delegation headed by Xuanyuan Xiaowen, vice president of CCES-TUWB and vice general manager of CREC participated in the 24 th ITA general assembly with the topic of “tunnel and metropolitan” in Stain Paul, Brazil. 
 　　 May 18-20, the 12 th metro academic exchange meeting sponsored by CCES-TUWB metro discipline team was held in Shanghai. Totally 192 representatives from 16 cities attended at the meeting, and 102 papers were exchanged, of which 86 papers were accepted in paper collection. 
 　　1999: May 28, invited by ITA, a 3-person delegation headed by Wang Jianyu, vice president of CCES-TUWB participated in the 25 th anniversary celebration of ITA foundation and the 25 th ITA general assembly, and academic seminar 1999 in Oslo, Norway. The king of Norway, Harde Five participated in the opening ceremony. More than 600 representatives from the world attended at the assembly, and 164 papers were exchanged there.
