1983: May 6-30, a 5-person delegation led by Mr. Gao Juqing participated in the 9 th ITA General Assembly, in which vice president Mr. Gao Juqing was selected as the ITA executive council member, and it was agreed to hold executive council conference in China the next year. 
 　　Nov. 12-18, according to the science exchange project agreed by Sino-France Science and Technology Mixed Commission in 1983, CCES and France State-run Road and Bridge School co-organized the Sino-France Tunneling and Underground Engineering Symposium in Beijing, in which 6 representatives from France, 11 representatives from China, and 64 nonvoting persons attended.
 　　1984: Oct. 22-25, international tunneling and underground engineering symposium was held in Beijing. This symposium was sponsored by CCES and ITA. Totally 33 experts from 12 foreign countries and 38 experts from China participated in the symposium. Among them, ITA president Leimly, former president Gouro, and other famous experts in tunneling field. This symposium is the first one held in China since the China became ITA member nation in 1979. In the symposium, ITA whole executive council conference was held. 
 　　1985: Mar. 7-9, Mr. Gao Juqing, vice president of CCES tunneling and underground works branch, ITA executive council member participated at the ITA executive council conference held in Prague, Czech Republic. 
 　　Sep. 1-5, Professor Gao Juqing, vice president of CCES tunneling and underground works branch, ITA executive council member attended the 11 th ITA general assembly, and ITA executive council conference held in the Czech Republic. In the conference, professor Gao Juqing was elected as ITA executive council member for the second time.
